About Sharqiyah International Race

The idea of Sharqiyah International Race began to take shape and gradually become clearer after its establishment back in 1995. As the committee members grew, it received strong support and endorsement from H.R.H. Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, then The Governor of the Eastern Province. His generous endorsement encompassed all race activities from its inception. It also received support from his deputy at the time, H.R.H. Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, followed by His Highness Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz.

The race was further supported by businessmen and philanthropists in the Eastern Province, along with the participation of many governmental and private entities in its annual events. This collective effort became a strong motivator for everyone to ensure the race was organized each year with the highest standards.

Over many years of success and continuous development, the people of the Eastern Province came to understand and embrace the race’s goals and objectives. Businessmen, companies, and institutions contributed to the excellence of this event and the achievement of its mission. In fact, other regions in the Kingdom adopted the concept due to the many benefits it brought to members of the community.
